My First Blog Party - Slipcovered Sofas
Two white slipcovered sofas. The one on the left is a dark green Norwalk sofa that has been covered in a white IKEA slip cover. The sofa on the right is the matching sofa I bought at IKEA to provide more seating space affordably. Everyone seems to think I would not have chosen white slipcovers if:
1. I had animals
2. I had children
They are wrong. I would still go with the white slipcovers because you can pop them in the wash. I would rather know, see and deal with dirt than pretend it isn't there with a darker sofa. I have to say, I love, love, love them. The room is still a work in progress but I wanted to join the Slipcover Party over at Pink And Polka Dot..now only if I could learn to sew so I could make me own!

I love your slipped sofas and your LR is beautiful! Who says you have to make them yourself? Ha! I wish I could afford to have someone else do it for me, it would be a lot faster...
ReplyDeleteYour living room and slipcovers are beautiful. I really like the symmetry of your seating area with the bookcases, fireplace and facing sofas. I wish our living room or family room were wide enough to pull this off :( I would have guessed that your sofas were a matched pair, the slipcovers sure make them look that way. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, ladies! That was a huge encouragement. It is still a work in progress..need to finish the shelves, work on a rug, and general accessories...will post after pictures - hopefully by Easter!
ReplyDeleteYour whole room Looks beautiful! So the Ikea slip fit the norwalk sofa? Cool beans!
ReplyDeleteFabulous! I know...doncha love white slipcovers. when you see dirt, you wash. they're fresh and clean! love them!
ReplyDeleteYes, I totally eye balled it with the Norwalk sofa and was like, "I think that's the same sofa..." The slipcover fit perfectly. I will say the feel is totally different - the Norwalk is much softer, more substantial...but it works for me!
